Masks could be ordered for free on breathablebacon.com, and for each mask request Hormel donated a meal (up to 10 thousand meals). In the end we had over 250 thousand requests for a Breathable Bacon Mask.
First, the internet blew up over it with articles from CNN, The Washington Post, NewsWeek, USATODAY, The New York Post, and many more. Then the world caught up and Breathable Bacon was featured on BBC Radio and articles around the world, from Italy to Germany and China. In less than two days we even had a few mask knockoff shops on Etsy. And over 1 BILLION impressions.
